Finally some good weather!

We are loving this warm weather! I took the kids to the zoo today and they were in heaven. Of course, all of Nashville had the same idea...but it was still fun! All the animals were out and in clear view. But the kids favorite thing at the zoo is their awesome playground.  There is a huge slide that Finley always goes on, but I never take Vera because I get to claustrophobic.  So today Finley was a great big brother and took her all the way up the castle and down the slide twice! She kept saying "i love you inley"...she calls him "inley."  And then we came home and played T-ball with daddy.  Finley has become so good at hitting the ball- such improvement in 3 days of teaching!

Things they say:
Finley:  - He calls bacon "pig meat"
-He is the biggest story teller, and makes things up just like his dad.  The other day a girl asked his name and he told her "Joey."  Then laughed and told me "that's just a silly game I play."
-He told me he knew where gas came from...Jesus.
-Our cars got broken into and Lukes stereo system stolen...and finn's reply to it "Mom, I thought there were no bad guys on this planet.  You should have killed them with a sword." ( I of course spoke with him about not killing and that police just take bad guys to jail....)
-He constantly tells us he wants to live with grandma and grandpa...not just visit them.  Yesterday he told me he need to call and ask them.

Vera:  - She will tell you she loves you over and over if you do something for her, like take her on a walk or when Luke lets her play a video game with him.
-When she wakes up in the morning she yells from her bed "shawnie! Where are you!" and when I went in this morning she put her hand on her cheek and said "Mommy, I cute."
- She likes to tell me she is beautiful or I am beautiful all the time
-she refers to herself in the 3rd person in all conversation
-if she wants me to do something she always says "Hurry, run!"
-if she wants help up off the floor or something she says "hand! hand!'
She is obsessed with dogs and airplanes, and Frozen, of course. She quotes Frozen all the time. She has just started becoming obsessed with 101 Dalmations. She has also entered the "do it myself" stage....she gets so mad when I help her do anything.

Popcorn Poppin' and I Wuv You

Every time Vera leaves a room she says "bye-bye, see ooh later, wuv you."

Popcorn Popping has become her favorite bedtime song.  She will not go to bed with out it...and she wont go to bed with out 5-7 bed time stories.  She also likes to sleep with the small Dr. Sues books.  Finley has been such a good brother and loves to sing to her or have her sit/lay with him and watch movies.  We have been snowed (more like iced) in for over a week and I thought these two would be sick of each other, but it has been the opposite.  Their little relationship is the cutest thing Ive ever seen. They love to wrestle, race, sing, dance, jump on my bed, and read books together. Vera is also quite the copy-cat. She seriously copies anything Finley says or does.  She also has become our biggest "prayer reminder"...anytime we sit down at the table or say it's time for bed, she quickly folds her arms and says "Prayer!" She can also start the prayer on her own and we just help her finish it. I can't believe how fast these two are growing up and I can't believe there's another one on the way!!

Birthday & Snow

 Luke turned 29!

His birthday request is always my strawberry shortcake

Sunday night an ice storm hit...not snow..ice. You could ice skate on the yard or down the street.
Everything froze...a few trees fell over in the back and some bushes snapped at their bases.
Im not a fan of being cold, but this kid sure loves the snow!  It does have it's perks...Luke's classes were canceled, until today- so we have had a lot of fun having him home with us!
Snow finally fell on Tuesday night...about 4-5" and it was so light and fluffy the kids loved throwing it at each other.  Also, have you ever heard of  a cryoseismic boom, also known as an ice quake, which happens when frozen water expands quickly in the ground...Luke and I did not know what was happening to our house last night- it sounded like big trees hitting the ground...this stuff doesn't happen in Mesa....

Nashville 2015 so far

It has been cold! But Finley LOVES the snow!

This semester Luke has had more time at home and we LOVE it! And yes...they do not have shirts on...Vera has learned to take clothes off and does so whenever we are home.

This is our pig out Super Bowl party
Vera wanted her nails done like her mama

And this girl wants to be big, but is no where near being potty trained...I am not trying either.  But she does ask to go on the toilet- just to play with the toilet paper.
